It is my sincere honor to recommend Mrs.Ginger Shirley to you as a prospective recipient of the Red River Chevy Dealer Teacher Appreciation Award . I have worked with Mrs. Shirley for the past four years. I believe she is an ideal candidate for this prestigious award. Ginger exemplifies all the attributes of an exemplary and/or distinguished Texas High School educator.  Mrs. Shirley has been a Special Education teacher for 30 years. The Holliday High School Special Education services  has thrived under the direction of Mrs. Ginger Shirley since 2004.   Mrs. Shirley and her staff set high expectations and goals for their program. Students are able to rise to those expectations that she places in front of them.  Mrs. Shirley is able to find ways of getting young people involved and thus successful in various programs at Holliday High School.  Ginger believes in kids and she provides a way of making kids believe in themselves.  Mrs. Shirley maintains a strong rapport with students and forms caring and loving relationships with each of them. Mrs. Shirley has been instrumental in developing a school wide culture of kindness in our school. She promotes Special Education program by having her students run the HERO BISTRO project at our school. From the HERO BISTRO project she was able to purchase a popular sign for our school. Be The I in KIND. She has been instrumental as our school ambassador by raising donations to help a Texas high school devastated by a Hurricane. She is a leader in the Texoma Region and has served as key sponsor of the areas Polar Plunge activities that goes to support Area 9 Special Olympics.  Ginger is a positive role model who has high expectations for herself, her school, and her students. She has excelled in building a very successful Special Education program in which students have achieved excellence.  
Mrs. Shirley has made a major impact on fellow teachers throughout her service to students and staff. She is a galvanizing school leader. She has successfully mentored several teachers here at Holliday High School. As a mentor teacher she has been exceptional in the success of inspiring and growing teachers and staff at Holliday High School.
She is a Handle with Care Trainer for educators. She has be instrumental in creating a Career Prep Work Based Program for Sped students.

Mrs. Shirley has excelled a successful U.I. L. Academic Coach. She has had great success with the teams she has directed. An example would be her UIL Journalism Events’ teams.
As UIL Current Events and Issues Coach she has directed her teams to back to back State Championships in 2018 & 2019 . Mrs. Shirley is a passionate educator who truly enjoys what she teaches
Mrs. Shirley has also been very successful in leading the Holliday High School Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) program for students.
Mrs. Shirley serves on various important committees and is a important leader of our school. Ginger serves on the PTech Planning Committee
and Site Based Decision Making Committee.
Mrs. Shirley is highly respected by her colleagues, administrators, students, parents and townspeople here in Holliday. It gives me great pleasure each day to work alongside a tremendous person.
